“L’Ivresse des profondeurs”
Deep-sea drunkenness is a disorder that can affect any diver when descending with tanks. Euphoria, confusion, blurred vision, loss of consciousness, anxiety, hallucinations… The capacity of judgement is reduced, one forgets; one does not make the right choices in time, putting one’s life in mortal danger. Here the intoxication is that of diving into a world of escapes, of realities that topple over; of words that one cannot pronounce or others that one repeats to reassure oneself.
