Nature Morte Still Life

In Huysmans’ novel, “A rebours”, the character of the Duc des Esseintes tries to escape from the real world. Combining puppetry and magic, the company has imagined another ending. What if the animals, living or dead, as well as the monstrous plants with which des Esseintes had surrounded himself, had not let him escape?
