Les rois

It’s the story of a child king who seeks and discovers himself. In Les Rois, music and shadow are intimately linked to plunge the audience into an intimate, interior atmosphere. From Domenico Gabrielli to Gaspar Cassado and Johann Sebastian Bach, the cello accompanies the little king on his adventure. Sometimes illustrating it, sometimes inspiring it, the instrumentalist adapts to the story of the character by varying the timbres and affects, giving the cello a dramatic role in its own right. Puppet and music, each drawing inspiration from the other to take the audience on a poetic journey.
